The Top Rehearsal Dinner Catering in clermont, FL
Big Boards Catering creates memorable rehearsal dinner catering for wedding parties and families across Clermont, FL. Chef Andy Raphael owns and operates the company, and he plans every rehearsal dinner knowing it opens the most important weekend of a couple’s life. We build each menu around the couple, the guest list, and the tone the hosts want, from a relaxed backyard cookout to an elegant family style dinner. Comforting crowd pleasers like Penne Pasta in Tomato Vodka Sauce, Pesto Tortellini, and Beef Tenderloin with Rosemary Garlic & Shallots anchor our most requested spreads. A styled grazing table welcomes guests as the wedding party arrives from the rehearsal itself. Sweet finishes like Mini Cannolis and French Macarons close the night beside the first toasts of the weekend. Our team handles delivery, setup, service, and cleanup, so the hosts can focus on the speeches instead of the serving spoons. Dietary needs across two families get gathered early and woven through the menu. Fresh ingredients and careful prep keep every plate consistent even when the rehearsal runs late. We scale comfortably from fifteen guests around one long table to seventy five across a garden. Pricing stays transparent and itemized, which keeps the traditional cost conversations between families simple. When you book Big Boards Catering, the night before the wedding gets the same care as the wedding itself.
Andy and his crew absolutely knocked it out of the park catering my cousin’s bridal shower at our home. From start to finish, everything was seamless. The food was exceptional—beautifully presented and even better tasting (guests are still talking about it). Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated the entire event. The service was just as impressive. Andy and his team were professional, attentive, and made everything feel effortless on our end. They truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly so we could actually enjoy the day. I would recommend Andy to anyone without hesitation and will definitely be using him again for future events. Five stars all the way!
I just have to say—Andy absolutely knocked it out of the park. The food was incredible from start to finish, but the shrimp and grits were on another level. Hands down the best shrimp I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and just melt-in-your-mouth good. You can tell a lot of care and skill went into every bite. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this to everyone I know!

I had been to a few events that Andy had catered, so we used him for our large, Anniversary open house in 2021. It was huge success, and we are still getting positive comments from friends who say it was the best they have seen. I have since been to several events that Andy catered, and every one was first rate. Totally recommend him for his work and his integrity.

Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the presentation is also gorgeous🤩 Big Boards can make something as simple as a tray of deviled eggs look like a masterpiece. Whether you’re looking for something casual, fun, unique, or elevated, Big Boards Catering Company is the way to go. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The high level of thought and consideration put into the planning and execution of their events is truly incredible. Everything, from the quality of the food, to the harmony of the items on the menu, to the presentation and its appeal, reflect the care and work ethic these folks pour into their work. My family has been attending functions and parties put on by the purveyors of this business since they were located in Coral Springs, and if anything they have only gotten better. The high reviews speak for themselves, and they only want customer satisfaction as their main goal. They will go out of their way to make your party/event the way you want it: a memorable one that you and your guests will talk about for a long time after it's done.
Exceptional catering experience for a baby shower! From my very first email inquiry until the end of the event Andy and his team were on top of everything! I was planning the event out of state & Andy coordinated and made the menu planning easy for me! We hosted a brunch menu and the food was amazingly presented and very delicious!
I hosted a bridal brunch in May 2025 and hired Big Boards Catering, and it was an unforgettable experience! The service was exceptional, making everyone feel welcomed and attended to. The food was simply outstanding, with the shrimp and grits being the highlight of the meal—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating a delightful atmosphere for celebrating the bride. Highly recommend Big Boards Catering for any special occasion!
I feel like I can write a book about how AMAZING Andrew & the entire Big Boards team! My husband and I hosted Christmas parties in 2021, 2022, & 2023 and Andrew & team were our go to for catering. Everything was WAY beyond our expectations. The food was amazing, the presentation was over the top, and the service was impeccable. Needless to say our neighbors now ask, mid-summer, for our Christmas party date to have it saved in their calendars. We love the team over at Big Boards Catering..
Such a great event we had March 2026 in Ocoee thanks to the amazing food and presentation Big Boards Catering provided! Never fails to amaze! Andy and his team also catered my wedding back in April of 2024 and because of how amazing him and the entire team did that is why i had them for my event this past March and will use them for every event in the future!
I cannot say enough about Big Boards Catering, Andy, and his entire team. We celebrated my parents 35th Anniversary, my grandma’s 90th Birthday, and doggy’s 13th Birthday, this March 2026 in Ocoee. The food was delicious and the presentation was exceptional. All of the guests were blown away and loved it all. Andy went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. I will make sure that Big Boards Catering’s name will spread and I will definitely use them again in the near future!
Andy and his team catered my daughter’s baby shower They followed the theme, provided decorations for food serving tables. The staff took care of set up to clean up. Highly recommend!!
I don’t even know where to begin Andy, Teresa, and the entire team at Big Boards Catering absolutely blew us away for our very first Empowered Electrical Christmas party. From the moment everything was set up, you could tell this was next-level. The presentation alone was stunning, but then you take a bite and it just gets better. Every single item was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the care, the quality, and the intention behind every detail. Nothing sat, nothing felt prepped hours before. It was all dialed in perfectly. Our team could not stop talking about the spread. People were going back for seconds and thirds, just trying to experience everything. It honestly turned into one of the highlights of the entire night and made our first Christmas party as a company that much more special. What made it even more powerful was the moment itself. After everything we accomplished in our first year at Empowered, the night carried a lot of emotion for our team. To have Andy, Teresa, and their team there catering that experience and serving at such a high level made it something we will never forget. It is honestly hard to even put into words what that meant to all of us. What stood out even more was the professionalism and heart behind it all. Andy and Teresa didn’t just cater an event, they elevated the entire experience and made it feel special for every single person there. If you are even thinking about hiring a catering company, stop looking. This is the one. Big Boards Catering set a standard that is going to be hard for anyone else to touch. Thank you guys for making our first Empowered Electrical Christmas party unforgettable. We will 100 percent be back.

Rehearsal Dinner Catering in Clermont
The rehearsal dinner carries a specific job inside the wedding weekend, and understanding that job shapes everything we serve. This is the night two families truly meet, the wedding party relaxes after the run through, and the couple breathes before the biggest day of their lives. The food should feel warm and generous rather than formal and stiff, because tomorrow already owns the formality. Toasts start here, often the most personal ones of the whole weekend, and the meal has to give them room. Out of town guests get their first taste of the celebration, literally and otherwise. The hosts, traditionally the groom’s family, want a night that honors the couple without upstaging the reception. We design rehearsal dinner menus with all of that in mind. A great rehearsal dinner sends everyone to bed excited, and that is the standard we cook toward.
Family style dinners remain the classic rehearsal format, and our menu was practically built for them. Penne Pasta in Tomato Vodka Sauce and Penne Pasta in Alfredo Sauce pass around a long table the way family dinners always have. Pesto Tortellini adds a touch of elegance while staying comfortably in the Italian tradition that rehearsal dinners love. Beef Tenderloin with Rosemary Garlic & Shallots gives the table a centerpiece worthy of the occasion. Roast Beef with House Au Jus or Chimichurri serves generously and carves beautifully for larger parties. Caesar Salad, Caprese Salad, and warm Garlic Rolls complete the spread with familiar comfort. Chicken options like Lemon Butter Chicken Thigh Skewers cover guests who want something lighter. Platters passed hand to hand do more for two merging families than any seating chart ever could.
Plenty of couples want the opposite of formal, and our casual formats deliver a rehearsal dinner guests genuinely relax at. A backyard BBQ spread with Baby Back Ribs, Pulled Pork Sliders, and Mac & Cheese lets the wedding party unwind in shorts before tomorrow’s suits. Sheet Pan Tacos with fresh toppings turn dinner into a build your own night that mixes the two families naturally. Gourmet Burger Sliders and a Hot Dog Bar suit welcome party style events where the guest list swells with out of town arrivals. A Mac & Cheese Bar or Baked Potato Bar adds interaction that breaks the ice between strangers about to become family. Comfort sides and fresh salads keep the casual spread balanced. The couple sets the tone, and the food follows it faithfully. Casual never means careless at our events; it just means comfortable.
Toasts are the soul of a rehearsal dinner, and we build the dessert moment to frame them. The sweet table opens as the speeches begin, giving guests something to hold besides their glasses. Mini Cannolis, Cannoli Shooters, and Cream Puffs serve elegantly to a seated or mingling crowd. French Macarons in the wedding colors quietly preview tomorrow’s palette. Individual Cheesecake Bites and Strawberries & Pound Cake Dessert Cups give variety across every generation at the table. The parents’ speeches, the maid of honor’s warm up, and the couple’s thank yous all land better in a room with dessert in hand. We time the service around the run of show so no toast competes with a clattering buffet. Some of the weekend’s best photos happen in this hour, and the table behind them should look the part.
Clermont anchors our rehearsal dinner work, and the wedding corridor keeps us traveling every weekend. Couples marrying in Winter Garden, Horizon West, and Windermere book us for home hosted dinners the night before nearby venue weddings. Orlando, Winter Park, and Baldwin Park bring us into private rooms, gardens, and clubhouses across the metro. Celebration and Kissimmee rehearsal dinners often gather out of town guests staying near the resort corridor. We run regular routes north to Lake Mary, Longwood, and Maitland for family hosted evenings. Lake County neighbors in Minneola, Groveland, and Mascotte get the same doorstep care as our hometown clients. Venue rich wedding country around Dr. Phillips and Gotha sits comfortably inside the range. Wherever the wedding is, the night before it is usually a short drive for us.
Planning a rehearsal dinner means coordinating with a wedding already in motion, and we fit into that machine smoothly. Chef Andy Raphael starts with a free planning session covering the date, the venue, the guest count, and the budget. We coordinate timing with the ceremony rehearsal itself, since dinners wait on officiants more often than anyone admits. Dietary lists usually already exist from the wedding planning, and we fold them straight into our menu. The hosts, the couple, and sometimes a wedding planner all get one clear point of contact. Itemized pricing keeps the traditional family cost conversations easy and transparent. Final counts a week out keep the estimate honest even as RSVP stragglers land. A calm plan the week before protects the one night the couple truly gets to exhale.
On the night itself, our team runs the dinner so the families can be families. We arrive early, build the grazing table and dinner service, and have everything styled before the rehearsal party pulls in. Food gets timed to a rehearsal that might run thirty minutes long, because they usually do. Servers keep platters moving, glasses cleared, and the room comfortable through dinner and toasts. Temperatures get monitored across the evening so late plates match early ones. The layout leaves a natural spot for speeches, slideshows, and the gift moment many couples plan. Cleanup happens quietly while the night winds down, and the space returns to the condition we found it. The hosts go to bed ready for a wedding instead of tired from a dinner party.
CLEAR COMMUNICATION
We believe successful catering starts with strong communication. Our team stays responsive throughout the planning process so expectations, timing, and event details stay organized.
FULL SERVICE CATERING
Our team handles setup, serving, coordination, and cleanup so you can focus on your guests instead of managing event logistics. Big Boards Catering delivers smooth, professional service from start to finish.
CUSTOM EVENT MENUS
Every event is different, which is why Big Boards Catering creates menus tailored to your guest count, event style, and food preferences. We help build a catering experience that feels organized and memorable.
Commonly Asked Rehearsal Dinner Catering Questions
Rehearsal dinner catering covers the menu, the service, the toast moment, and the setup and cleanup for the night before the wedding. The questions below answer what Clermont couples and their families search for most before booking.
Rehearsal dinner catering cost depends on the guest count, the menu, and the formality of the night. Across Central Florida, most rehearsal dinners land between roughly twenty and fifty five dollars per guest. A casual BBQ or taco spread sits at the friendlier end of that range. Family style dinners with beef tenderloin and full sides price toward the higher end. Styled drop off service costs meaningfully less than a fully staffed evening. Staffing, rentals, and travel appear as clear line items when they apply. Big Boards Catering itemizes every estimate so the hosting family sees exactly where each dollar goes. The final invoice matches the quote, which matters during an expensive weekend.
Format moves the budget as much as the dishes do. Casual formats stretch dollars across a bigger welcome party style guest list. Formal family style dinners concentrate spending on a smaller, closer list. One elevated centerpiece, like tenderloin or a carved roast, upgrades the whole night for a modest add. We help hosts decide where the money shows up and where it quietly does not. Trimming an appetizer round often funds a better dessert moment beside the toasts. Wedding weekends strain budgets, and we respect that reality openly. Every choice gets a firm number before anything is confirmed.
Headcount rounds out the estimate in familiar ways. Rehearsal dinner lists grow when out of town guests get included, so we plan a buffer. Locking the count a week out keeps the quote accurate. Thursday and Friday evenings, when most rehearsals land, price like the weekend nights they are. Larger lists pull the per guest number down through volume. Venue requirements occasionally add small fees, and we flag them early. The free planning session walks through every lever with real numbers. Call with your date and your list, and we will price the dinner down to the line.
The best rehearsal dinner food is warm, generous, and one notch less formal than tomorrow’s reception. Family style Italian remains the classic for good reason, with pasta, tortellini, salads, and warm bread passing around the table. A carved centerpiece like Beef Tenderloin with Rosemary Garlic & Shallots elevates the night without competing with the wedding menu. A grazing table welcomes guests arriving from the rehearsal at different times. Fresh salads and comfort sides balance the richer dishes. Dessert should arrive with the toasts, not after them. The couple’s favorite comfort foods deserve a place, since this night belongs to who they actually are. We shape the final menu around the tone the hosts want to set.
Contrast with the wedding menu is a planning trick worth using. A formal plated reception tomorrow argues for a relaxed, family style tonight. A casual wedding can flip the pattern, letting the rehearsal dinner carry the elegance. Repeating tomorrow’s entree tonight steals the reception’s thunder, so we steer around it. Cuisine can shift too, with Italian tonight and something entirely different tomorrow. Guests remember the weekend as one long meal, and variety keeps every course of it interesting. We ask about the wedding menu during planning for exactly this reason. The two nights should complement each other like courses.
Guest list composition finishes the menu math. Rehearsal dinners mix the wedding party, immediate family, and often traveling guests spanning every generation. Grandparents appreciate gentler options like salmon and tender chicken. The wedding party, running on adrenaline and rehearsal nerves, eats more than anyone expects. Kids in the wedding party need simple plates that survive fancy clothes. Dietary needs from the wedding list carry straight over to tonight. A varied spread lets every table find its comfort. Tell us who is coming, and the menu will fit them.
Tradition assigns the rehearsal dinner to the groom’s family, and many weddings still follow that custom. The logic paired it against the bride’s family traditionally hosting the wedding itself. Plenty of modern couples split costs differently, and no caterer should blink at that. Some couples host their own rehearsal dinner, especially when they are funding the wedding. Both families sometimes share the night as a joint welcome to their new relatives. Blended families occasionally divide hosting duties across multiple events in the weekend. There is no wrong answer, only the arrangement that suits your families. We work comfortably with whoever holds the checkbook.
Our process makes any payment arrangement painless. Itemized quotes show exactly what the dinner costs, line by line. One family can pay in full, or costs can split across parties however they agree. The deposit and balance can come from different payers without any confusion on our end. We communicate with whoever the hosts designate, keeping the couple out of the money conversation when they prefer. Receipts and documentation arrive promptly for every payer. Financial clarity prevents the one family friction nobody wants on a wedding weekend. Transparent numbers are simply part of our service.
A practical note helps hosts plan the commitment. The rehearsal dinner typically costs a fraction of the wedding, often between a quarter and a tenth depending on the guest list. Keeping the list tighter controls the number more than trimming the menu does. A casual format stretches the budget across a larger welcome party crowd. Hosts who know their number early make better menu decisions. We build the plan to the budget stated, not to an upsell. The free planning session puts real numbers on the table before anyone commits. Bring the budget conversation to us early and the rest of the weekend gets easier.
The core rehearsal dinner list writes itself, and it starts with everyone at the rehearsal. The couple, the full wedding party with their partners, the immediate families, and the officiant traditionally attend. Parents of any child attendants join, since the flower girl rarely drives herself. Grandparents typically round out the family core. That baseline usually lands between fifteen and thirty five guests. Many hosts stop there and keep the night intimate. The tighter list preserves the evening’s real purpose, which is the toasts and the exhale before tomorrow. We cater beautifully at exactly this scale.
The modern expansion adds out of town guests, and it changes the night’s character. Travelers who flew in for the wedding appreciate being fed the night before. Including them turns the rehearsal dinner into a welcome party, often thirty to seventy five guests. The format usually shifts casual to match, with stations, sliders, or a BBQ spread. Some couples split the difference, holding a small dinner followed by a dessert and drinks welcome hour. Budget, venue size, and family preference decide which version fits. Both versions are common across Central Florida weddings. We cater either one, or the hybrid between them, with equal care.
Portioning follows the list you choose. Intimate dinners eat like family meals, with generous family style platters and second helpings expected. Welcome party formats graze across a longer window with rolling arrivals. The wedding party eats heartily after a long rehearsal, and we count them generously. Kids plates keep the youngest attendants happy without waste. A buffer covers the cousin who was always coming even though nobody confirmed it. Final counts a week out keep everything accurate. Share the list and the format, and we will size the night precisely.
Most rehearsal dinners land deliberately one step below the wedding’s formality, and that instinct is correct. The reception owns the weekend’s elegance, so the night before earns the right to relax. A casual dinner lets two families actually talk instead of performing. The wedding party, halfway through a demanding weekend, welcomes a night in comfortable clothes. Toasts land warmer in a relaxed room than a stiff one. Backyard dinners, garden parties, and family style tables all fit this register beautifully. The couple’s personality should decide the exact spot on the scale. Our menus flex across the entire range without losing quality.
Formal rehearsal dinners still have their place, and we serve them well. Some families carry traditions that call for an elegant seated evening. A refined dinner suits couples whose wedding leans casual, flipping the usual pattern. Beef Tenderloin, plated salads, and a composed dessert course deliver that register convincingly. Venue private rooms and clubhouses frame a formal night naturally. Service staff, course timing, and table styling all rise to match. Formality done warmly still leaves room for laughter during toasts. The choice is style, never a quality tier, on our end.
The venue often settles the question for you. A backyard says casual before the first plate lands. A country club private room says polished without anyone announcing it. Matching food to setting always reads better than fighting it. Weather, season, and outdoor comfort matter for Florida evenings, and we plan for all three. The dress code on the invitation should agree with the menu, and we help hosts align them. When hosts feel torn, a polished casual middle ground almost always wins. Tell us the venue and the vibe, and we will calibrate the menu to it.
Yes, we cater rehearsal dinners at private homes and venues across Central Florida. Home hosted dinners are a beloved tradition, often at a parent’s house or a rented wedding weekend property. We adapt to your space, from a formal dining room to a string lit backyard. Small kitchens never limit the menu because the food arrives prepped and ready to finish. Venue dinners at clubhouses, gardens, and private rooms run just as smoothly. We coordinate directly with venue managers on timing, access, and rules. Outdoor evenings get planned around Florida heat, bugs, and weather contingencies. The setting shapes the logistics, never the quality on the table.
Home hosting carries emotional weight on a wedding weekend, and we protect it. The family home hosting the dinner should feel like a home that night, not a restaurant kitchen. We bring serving equipment so the household’s dishes stay put. Setup happens while the family is at the rehearsal, so they return to a finished room. The toast spot, the slideshow wall, and the gift table all get factored into the layout. Cleanup finishes before the hosts start worrying about tomorrow’s early hair appointments. The house returns to normal the same night. Hosting the last family dinner before the wedding should be a joy, and we keep it one.
Venues bring rules, and wedding weekend venues bring schedules. Load in windows, kitchen policies, and paperwork get sorted early. Many rehearsal dinners share a property with tomorrow’s wedding, and we coordinate around the setup already underway. Rental windows get respected to the minute, protecting deposits and vendor relationships. We have served private rooms and gardens across Orlando, Winter Park, and Celebration. Unfamiliar spaces get a walkthrough when the plan raises questions. Every event receives a written arrival, service, and breakdown schedule. Share the address and we will handle everything else.
Most hosts book rehearsal dinner catering six to ten weeks ahead. The wedding date has usually been set for months, so the rehearsal dinner date is already known. Thursday and Friday evenings in wedding season fill quickly across Central Florida. Booking early protects the date and gives the menu real attention. Spring and fall wedding seasons book out the furthest. Big Boards Catering can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines for smaller dinners. Availability always comes down to our calendar for your specific date. Booking the rehearsal dinner when the wedding vendors get booked is the wisest pattern.
Lead time pays off across the whole weekend. Menus get planned in contrast with the wedding menu, which requires knowing both. Dietary lists from the wedding planning transfer over cleanly with time to verify. Coordination with the planner, the venue, and the rehearsal schedule settles calmly. A deposit locks the date on our calendar. Final counts a week out keep the estimate accurate as travel plans firm up. Chef Andy Raphael plans best with room to breathe. A calm rehearsal dinner sets the tone for a calm wedding day.
Shorter timelines happen, and we handle them honestly. Couples sometimes realize late that the night before needs a real plan. Family style and casual menus assemble quickly when our calendar allows. We tell you plainly what a tight date can support. If we cannot serve the night well, we say so directly. Peak season Fridays forgive the least delay of any date we serve. Sometimes a Thursday rehearsal opens options a Friday cannot. Reach out today and we will check your wedding weekend against our calendar.
Yes, and booking both with one caterer carries real advantages. The two menus get designed together, complementing instead of accidentally repeating. Dietary lists, family preferences, and guest quirks get learned once and applied twice. The rehearsal dinner works as a live rehearsal for the catering itself, since our team sees the families and the flow a day early. Communication runs through one contact across the whole weekend. Logistics like equipment, timing, and venue access get planned as one operation. Multi event bookings can unlock friendlier pricing across the weekend. One relationship carries the couple from the first toast to the last dance.
The quality argument matters as much as the convenience. A caterer who fed the families Thursday night knows the room Friday brings. We learn which dishes your crowd devoured and adjust the wedding service accordingly. Trust built at the smaller event pays off when the stakes rise. The couple never re explains their vision between vendors. Styling, colors, and flavor threads can run through both nights deliberately. Problems get prevented instead of discovered, because we already walked the weekend. Continuity is a luxury that costs nothing extra.
Booking both stays flexible and pressure free on our end. Plenty of clients start with just the rehearsal dinner and decide afterward. Separate itemized quotes keep each event’s budget clear. Deposits hold each date independently, one commitment at a time. Some couples bring us in only for the rehearsal dinner beside a venue’s required wedding caterer, and that works fine too. We coordinate respectfully with other vendors when the weekend splits. Our goal is to earn the second booking with the first one. Start with the night before, and see how the wedding conversation goes.
